This is not a how-to talk. It’s not filled with examples of great design for the sake of showcasing great design, or for advancing a particular point-of-view.

It’s a collection of anecdotes and perspectives from immensely talented and interesting people I’ve had the privilege to know during my career, combined with lessons I’ve learned while turning cranks on dozens of web applications, that I think will benefit any designer who wants to lead in technology product startups.

That leadership is most likely found in a small-team effort to complete the greatest work they possibly can under intense time, budget, and often-unavailable talent pressure.
